Anti-wrinkle injections

Anti-wrinkle injections derived from botulinum toxin type A, is an effective non-surgical treatment for facial lines and wrinkles and an established brand name. The anti-wrinkle injection treatment results in a youthful appearance by reducing muscle contractions. From the treatment of “crow’s feet” at the edge of the eyes to forehead lines, frown lines and glabellar lines (wrinkles between the brows), Botulinum toxin injections can smooth a wide range of fine facial lines and wrinkles caused by facial expressions with a simple 10-minute treatment. This is an effective and safe way to reduce and soften wrinkles and lines for both men and women most commonly around the eyes, nose and lips and across the forehead area.

There are several areas of the face where neuromodulators are commonly used. The forehead consists of 3 main muscles (the powerful corrugator, the frontalis, and the procerus). These muscles cause forehead and frown lines. The orbicularis oculi muscles create crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes. These lines are not only signs of aging but can also make you look “tired” or “cross” at rest.

injectabes for bruxism - tooth grinding & clenching / Facial Slimming

The masseter muscle is a facial muscle that connects our lower jaw to our cheeks. It is one of the several muscles responsible for chewing. When this muscle becomes enlarged for a variety of reasons, usually in patients who grind or clench their teeth, it can dramatically change the shape of your lower face.

The anti-wrinkle injections or Botulinum Toxin type A is a muscle relaxer. It’s use include to temporarily paralyses the muscle it’s injected into. This can also slim the appearance or your face as well as managing facial pain.

Non-surgical jaw reduction is a very popular treatment at our medical aesthetic clinic.

What is bruxism (teeth grinding and clenching)?

You probably grind your teeth or clench them once in a while. Occasionally grinding your teeth most likely won’t cause any harm.

But if you regularly grind your teeth, you may have a condition called bruxism which can cause jaw pain and teeth problems and also lead to headaches

Why is teeth grinding harmful?

Teeth grinding can cause several problems:

  • Changes in how you look (aesthetic problems) and your facial profile.

  • Fractured or loosened teeth.

  • Harming your TMJs and jaw and neck muscles.

  • Loss of teeth.

  • Wearing down of teeth.

WHAT IS THE MASSETER MUSCLE?

The masseter muscle is located on each side of your jaw and is one of the main muscles involved with chewing. When someone chews or grinds their teeth too often, the masseter muscles can increase in size and cause issues with the shape of your face.

There most common reasons for the increased size of the masseter muscles are:

  • Genetics

  • Ethnicity

  • Clenching (bruxism), particularly at night

  • Grinding

  • Excessive chewing

  • Chewing on only one side of the mouth
